NUS Shoot

I've been so unfair to my blogspot account. Actually i posted in my Livejournal account, and this is just a 'copy and paste over' entry. Hehe, forgive my laziness.


After the test, zt and i went to cwp for our 'lunch', though we just grab bread and finger food. We didn't want to get filling stuff, fretting that we might not feel comfortable while shooting. On the way to Yishun Safra, we met a person we least wanted to see(our luck~). So common sense, we sneak away to another cabin of the MRT. But this annoying person saw us by chance, and naturally came up to us~ T_T. So we have to let him join us on the way to Safra.

On reaching our destination, there's already students from other schools. We were kind of lost, don't know what to do first (we are novice). We don't have any idea where to get our rifles, where's our jacket, and where to put our stuffs. Mind you those stuffs are heavy and bulky. When we finally got settled for everything, waiting for 5 more mins for the previous detail to end, we were told that we haven't register! I was like 'HUH? Register, is there such a procedure?!?' So we rushed out of the range, searching for the registering counter. At the counter, the person explained everything but i wasn't listening (it's the last 5 min!!), i just signed against my name and filled in another column which i don't know what it is. This time, the person stopped me and ask whether i'm joining the Novice Shooting. I paused and think 'Eh... what's that? Yes, i'm a novice but i don't think i'm in that detail' so i cancelled those i filled. I'm such a greenhorn! I was soo... embarrassed! Luckily, i'm about to shoot and wasn't in the mood to think how others will think of me.

And the competition started. Did the usual stuff, preparation, dry firing. I was rather nervous at the start of the competition, i couldn't control my breathing. But things get more steady after the preparation, thank god i didn't waste much time to calm myself down. I'm at lane 20 and the shooter at lane 21 is a left-handle which means that she is facing at me. But i didn't care that much, so i wasn't affected by that. When it came to the last shot, i just couldn't get it right, and it flew all the way to 5-6 point area. Nonetheless, the score for the overall is still pretty good, so i wasn't bothered by that.

Ended my shooting quite fast, in fact, my team is the fastest among all the rest. Zt got out first, and i followed after her. We should be the first 2 to get out. Anyway, we are trained to shoot fast. We knew our results before the official result is out. I scored 360/400, which is a 9/10 on average. The rest of my team did pretty well too~ Though we didn't not clinch anything, it's still an achievemment and record for myself. I didn't expect my performance to be about the same as my training.
