seWen - 1!!!

我的第一次,献给了他们!

Before anyone jumps into conclusion, i've to clarify that it's my first experience being a 'tourguide'. Hehee~

Through chuppy who recommend me this lobang, i thought that since it's holiday, i might as well give it a try and you know i'm Soooo nervous that i couldn't sleep the previous night all the way until 4am!

Together with chuppy and Ek, we made our way to newton food centre in the morning which is where all the other tourguide gather and pick up our individual groups. I can say that i'm totally loss at first, drifting away in my thoughts how am i going to handle a group of foreigners who don't speak my language at all! Thanks to chuppy, at least i know what's the basic things i should do.

We were each given a piece of paper with the group we were assigned to. Mine was class 7 group 1, and right behind the paper there's a number of places of ahem "interest" written on it. I'm supposed to bring them to orchard, cityhall and novena. Chuppy had like 5 places to go which includes additional places like little india, chinatown and arab street. And according to prior experience, chuppy strike out little india from the itineries. XDXDXDXD!!!

When it's like 11.45am, those japanese student started streaming in groups by groups. My nervous level also hit the highest level! My legs wobbled. When the batch of class 7 students arrived, some other girls behind us was like saying "omg omg, they got 凶神恶煞的样子" cos right in front of the batch stands like a few plus sized guys. But anyway, everything just happen like in a split second and my group had to follow me and proceed to those destination. Everything felt so awkward at first because we have to take them away to avoid jamming up the place and i thought i should introduce myself first. It was then chuppy said "婷不要站在太阳下啦!" XD! paiseh... i'm too 手忙脚乱 and can't think properly. And it took me a lot effort to count the number of students in my groups, a task which is 'chicken feet' even for a little kid. Finally with much struggle there's 6 of them.

At the station, we helped them bought the standard tix for the mrt and the top up machine is simply too 'lay chey' sometimes it rejects the notes, sometimes it rejects the coins. Irritates me, cause it happens everytime and i have 6 tix to buy, not 1! Then i was planning to bring them to cityhall first and i don't know why i end up telling them orchard first. My mind is like working towards the cityhall direction but my mouth was saying the otherwise! Such a... a retard~

Anyway, i went cityhall first.

Had a hard time trying to find seats at the raffles city food court for all of them, when we did, then we settle our lunch. At first they told me they wanted to do shopping and i was rather surprise cause guys doesn't seem interested in shopping, so i was like orh..okay. Let's go shopping! After loitering around for a while, i realised i had interpreted their meaning of shopping wrongly. argh...Language barrier!!! What they meant for shopping was to shop for souvenirs. So i msged chuppy where can i get them!?! I had absolutely no idea. She told me there is at far east, but i was not convinced at first. Anyway, orchard was one of my destination so i'll give it a shot. But i just reached cityhall! And by hook or by crook, i have to spend at least 3 hours there. I had no choice so brought them to suntec thinking maybe they'll be interested in the Fountain of Wealth since it's the biggest man-made fountain in.. the world? I went on to explain it to them, but got stucked at the very first word fountain. They don't understand!! and i can't find any other simpler word to explain that. Anyway, i just went ahead and brought them there and asked if they would like to go in and walked around it 3 rounds cos "claimed to bring good luck". I said all this to them not in complete sentence, but in key words, only to encounter hiccups at words like good luck. Hahahaaa, FAILED. I'm so 失败!!!

Second 失败 is that i don't know all of their names! I have to say it's really difficult la...

He's... Hide***something***???

He's one of those can know a bit more english vocab than the others. Look at the way he bend his body, such a weird posture!

He's one of the shy guys in the group. The only word i can rmb him telling me is " Can take a picture?" The funny thing when taking this picture is the more i lean towards him, the further he SIAM! *eh i'm that scary?! I don't bite!* Oh ya, he's tomouchi? Something like that.

Hahahaa.. Alright!! I know he's namae!! Kyota!!!! Finally... Cause I embarrassed myself for calling him Kyoto at first!!! *peng* He's quite nice, smile a lot!

Here comes the jester! He did a lot of funny stuff along the way la! I bet you can judge yourself from this picture. He's Usuke and i kept calling him usuki instead. He's sweet alright, asked me if i'm cold and bought hot drink for me! Super hilarious, cause at most he can speak a bit english, but the person selling drinks is from china, so he had a hard time asking for a cup of hot drink!

And there's also Hiroshi and Shohei... I'm not sure of the way it's being spelt, whom i didn't have the chance to take photos with them, but they are in the group photo.

Next we went to orchard road and i thought that it's rather bored to walk those connections from one building to the other, so we walked on the outdoor street, only to realise that they find the weather too hot. They were so relieved when they entered the air-conditioned shopping malls! We visited the Far East Plaza and followed chuppy directions, TADA! found the souvenir shop. I guess that's the only shop they spent there for the longest time, though it's only a small section of the whole shop. Then they went on to choose their souvenirs and bargain with the indian man who knows quite a bit of Japanese, mainly some merlion ornaments. etc. boring stuff we can think of basically.

Oh ya, when we were taking the escalator at wisma atria, usuke asked me what the brushy thing at the side of the escalator was for. omg, i was stunt, and my first answer was a awkward i don't know. I know for sure the use of it, but it's just that i couldn't rmb and even if i did, i couldn't put it in words to describe it to them. So as not to disappoint them, i suggest the lousy reason i could think of that is *light bulb lights up* "to clean your shoes!" OMG! That was the dumb-dumber-dumbest answer EVER!!! And the next thing i saw was a group of orh-i-understand expression followed by usuke put his foot against the brushy thing! It's like so hilarious, but seriously i felt kind of guilty for being such a bad guide.

After orchard, we head to novena for dinner! That was when usuke bought he the cup of hot drink for me. After dinner we went to cold storage and they picked up stuff like mineral water and erm... orange juice for many of them. Usuke and Kyota saw the Japanese food product there and were very surprised. Shohei bought the weirdest stuff, i couldn't comprehend. He actually bought a 5kg packet of rice from the supermarket and he wanted to bring it back to Japan. That was really interesting, i thought he wanted to cook in his hotel room or something.. which i wouldn't?

And then, it's about time they were all tired, we head back to Hotel Royal. Took various photos and bid our farewell. Shook hands with all of them, and they present me with the stuffs they bought from Japan and a necklace, how nice of them~ As the saying goes 天下没有不散的宴席, and they left heading back to their rooms. It's really a very nice experience, been able to bring them around and speak to them though it's a uphill task.
